Our other bass players
|
Keith Tyrrell
- long a stalwart of East Anglia's folk rock scene. Great bass
player, formerly with The Lucys, The Mark Fawcett Band, The Kesh
and others Keith joins us from East Suffolk and plays bass and
guitar in a number of local (to him) folk and folk rock bands
as well as providing music for a local morris side. He's also
a fine engineer who has designed and made a number of useful musical
contraptions for members of the band. Keith has a very exciting
and sensible bass backline rig that looks like it belongs in the
cockpit of a jumbo jet with its beautiful array of lights and
controls.

Robin
Houchen
- a graduate of the West Norfolk music scene of the 60s and 70s,
Robin was a regular member of the band throughout the nineties
until work (most of us had proper jobs in those days!) took him
off to Essex. We feared he was lost forever until rumours started
circulating that he had been seen back in King's Lynn. Robin made
a triumphant return to The NotV in the autumn of 2008 when we
played at the Arts Centre in Stamford.

Jon
Balmforth
- a groovy funkmeister, fine slapbass merchant and owner of some
of the weirdest bass instruments you've ever seen. Leads File Under
Funk and plays also in Malecon. Peterborough based Indian
Summer is Jon's primary band.

Mark
Burrows
- aircraft technician turned musician Mark
is a very accomplished bass player. You'll know when Mark is playing;
he's the quiet one in the corner laying down the groove and filling
in the spaces. Mark played with the Mark Fawcett Band and, for
a few months, in a floating band cruising round Europe's shores
on a Portuguese registered ship. I don't think the ship sank,
but we haven't heard from him for a while!
