Martin Bright
- percussionist, kit player and Cuban music specialist, Martin
is also the man behind Malecon and often literally "our man
in Havana". He has been rehearsing for a couple of years
with ex-members of Shave the Monkey and is about to embark on
a round of the festivals. Not often our musicians get head-hunted
by the famous! On a more modest level, Martin also played with
Panacea.

Dave Jackson
- Derek met Dave at Ivan's new year jazz jam in 2011 and immediately
took his contact details. Tight, crisp, dynamic playing, coupled
with youthful enthusiasm and charm make for good company on and
off the stage. When Henry's on duty Dave performs with many other
bands including The
Offshore Rivers, The
Wild Boys, and no doubt he'll tell me zillions of others. Dave's
first time with The NotV was for a primary school party in West
Norfolk in April 2011. It was outdoors on the playground, cold and
blowing a gale and he still came back for more. What a hero! |

Toby
Paice*
- What a delight to be able to welcome Toby back to the drum throne!
He was the second drummer for The NotV and played with us for many
years before disappearing to France for three years, university,
marriage and the travelling life. Now living and working in the
other royal county he
plays for The
Connections and the Reading samba band, Beatroots
Bateria, along with some of their offshoots. He led a deprived
childhood. While all his mates watched The Multi-Coloured Swapshop
on Saturday morning television his cruel parents forced him to play
timps in Beethoven's 9th ... or so he says. Anyway, his playing
perfectly complements the band with his Chilli-Peppered grooves.
He sat in when Henry was called away at short notice and it was
as though he'd never been away. |

Digby
Frammingham
- The first time Digs stepped in for Henry the audience asked
how long we'd been together and how many times a week we rehearsed
to make it sound so good. It would have been easy to lie, but
a cough and a change of subject did the trick. Digs was with The
Talent and played with Stef in Kaboose. His MySpace
page, however, seems to reflect other interests.

Barry
Wilson
- Barry has been around the Norwich and Norfolk scene for a while
although his London origins gave him the opportunity to play with
just about everyone, including an unknown guitarist later to acquire
ubergod status in the Rolling Stones. After "loads of London
stuff" Barry set sail to play in Hilton Hotels in far away
places, eventually seeing sense and settling in Norfolk where
he teaches and now plays with Don't Spook the Horse, the Eddie
Seales Big Band and the Jonathan Wyatt Band.

Nigel Smith*
- Essex refugee, now living in the Fens and another fine drummer.
Nigel also works with the Nigel Portass Project and is increasing
his teaching workload. He is the proud owner of Ely's only music
shop and now has his pick of some very nice kits.
